Pre-Surgery Condition/Lifestyle:
I spent most of my life in bed or a dark room. We NEVER MADE ANY SORT OF PLANS because I could not know definitively how I was going to feel 30 minutes in advance much less 24 hours beforehand. Basically I had no life. My husband for all intents and purposes was living with an invalid. The worst thing about it is that we never really had the opportunity to enjoy being married. Our early marriage we were college students so we were both extremely busy trying to get out of school. Northwest Arkansas is a fabulous place to live and we have never really settled in the house we bought 15 years ago! I had boxes that I had not had the energy to deal with in more than 20 years. We moved them 7 times and stored them until I had the strength to unpack and make decisions about the contents in each box. Each day was a minute to minute proposition. I might be okay when I got up and 2 hours later I was in bed with a rip roaring migraine. I spent so much time in bed or dealing with pain it had become the one major constant I could always count on in my life or at least I had accepted that fact and had decided that I wasn’t going to be down about it anymore. It was a card that I had been dealt that wasn’t fair but life isn’t always fair. I was able to cope with the pain for the most part. It was very difficult for my husband to deal with. We have been married for 26 years. We were unable to have children due in large part to my headaches. I have some other contributing factors, but I believe God didn’t give me more than I could handle. There have been times when the pain has been extreme. I have literally tried all the treatments out there.

Post-Surgery Condition/Outcome:
I have a life again. We can make plans and not worry about low pressure cells. I don’t have to ask what is in everything I eat anymore! I have started my own online business. I could not have done that before! I have a garden of container roses. I am expanding it to a few other things, I am currently at war with the deer and the squirrels. They keep eating my plants and wreaking havoc! I have been enjoying life without migraine pain. It is weird to be able to go to sleep on my own and to not need my Topamax and Inderal to prevent migraines. I would never skip my nightly meds like I do now. I was very rigid about having to take all my meds on time. Now not so much! It is liberating!! I do have to keep my battery charged and take care of my remote, but that is not a problem! This procedure is WORTH A TRY!! The only thing you have to lose IS PAIN!!!
