How was your experience with your Patient Care Manager?
Excellent! She was very helpful and communicated the process very thoroughly.
How was your experience with your Doctor?
Excellent! He was very understanding.
What was your life like before surgery?
I had migraines 3 to 4 times weekly. I thought I was functioning adequately. I wasn’t sleeping well, was exhausted all the time. I seemed to always be in a fog. Forgot things all the time.
What is your life like now, after surgery?
I can now tell the difference between the old me and the new me. I am 100% off my maintenance medicines. It’s only been 2.5 months since the surgery and I am having only 1 to 2 migraines a week that is a 50% reduction so far. Also when I do have a headache, I took abortive medicines one time a week but in the last month the device is helping get rid of them as I increase my intensity level. My typical migraine symptoms are still there when I get a headache but to go 3 or 4 days without a headache is so awesome. I sometimes just cry cause I can’t believe it. I have so much more energy. Its funny but I told my husband, “I walk faster now”. I noticed that when I had a headache I was very sluggish. It’s just interesting the small things that I can see the significant difference (walking, talking more, happier, smile more, cleaning house, memory is coming back).
[Now] I wake up thinking, “hey you should go walk the neighborhood”. This is huge for me. My energy level was so low, I couldn’t even think about exerting any more.
What would you say to someone who is contemplating the Omega Procedure?
Do your research to ensure this is for you before you proceed. If I had to do it all over again, I would still do it. It has been a life changer for me. If you do it, keep a log of your changes and look back. It is amazing how much you will notice.
