How was your experience with your patient coordinator?
Hilary was such a relief when I was working with her. She made everything very easy to understand and helped me the whole way through, I felt like I truly made a friend along the way.
How was your experience with your doctor?
My doctor, Marwan Shuayto, was so great! He was very kind and really cared about my health. He had a great sense of humor as well which in situations of the unknown typically like these– he made everything great!!
What was your life like before surgery?
My first instinct to answer this question when I read “what was LIFE like before surgery?” is WHAT LIFE????!!!! I had no life before surgery other than spending my time in bed or in the hospital. I couldn’t make plans with friends, my boyfriend at the time (who is now my husband), I lived every day by how I felt when I woke up that morning. For a while I built a tolerance to the pain and worked through it but it was rare that I made it a whole day without being in bed for at least half of the day.
What is your life like now, after surgery?
I am 100% migraine free since I woke up from surgery last year (2015) I never thought I’d ever be able to say that my entire life. Since surgery, I make plans weeks or days even ahead of time now, I work two jobs, finished my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, was available to go to school as well full time to graduate, play with my two dogs, go on trips, got married, bought a house and was able to fix it up…mainly I get to LIVE the LIFE I never thought I’d get to.
[I can now] Make it through a whole day without any medication or being in bed. I live life every day now without any interruptions
What would you say to someone who is contemplating the Omega Procedure?
I am the perfect example on how amazing this procedure has changed my life. I had migraines for 8 years, EVERY single day. If you want to live the life you deserve, you will not think twice about this procedure, it didn’t just alter my life a little bit, it completely changed it forever.
