How was your experience with your patient coordinator?
The experience was really simple except the insurance part which is never easy but she took care of all the leg work with them!
How was your experience with your doctor?
I love Dr. Chapman in Houston, TX. He was wonderful and has a way of calming your fears before surgery! The facility where my surgery was, the First Street Surgical Center in Bellaire, TX, was wonderful, comforting and compassionate.
Amy’s Letter to Migraine Treatment Centers of America:
My name is Amy T. I was one of the patients who received the Omega Procedure. Let me give you a little background information. About 14 years ago I started having terrible jaw pain. I was diagnosed with TMJ that caused extreme nerve pain and headaches not to mention a dislocated jaw torn cartilage and torn muscles, etc. Over the years things just go worse and worse for me. I went through so many doctors and so many drugs to help stop the pain. I have a vast collection of mouth pieces, guards and retainers to say the least. I’ve been to New Jersey to a specialist. My husband and I have spent about $50,000. Its taken a toll on my whole family emotionally and financially. I can go on and on with the toll its taken on me personally… depression, pain, suicidal thoughts, no sleep, sickness, vomiting, etc. As I said, I can go on for days.
I found your website and made an appointment I did the trial in May and had the permanent neurostimulator put in on June 23. Since my problem was not just headaches, it was both headaches and TMJ nerve pain, my doctor had to explain that for TMJ this process was new. I would be the 13th patient to have the stimulator leads on the nerve in my jaw. It hasn’t worked too well on some patients because the jaw moves and could shift the leads. Well so far so wonderful!!! I cant believe how much it has helped and how wonderful the quality of my life has been! I feel like I am 25 again and starting life over. I had to quit the best job of my life because of the sick days and medicine I had to take just to be able to live. I missed out on so much of both my daughters’ lives because I was always sick with migraines and pain. Also, I missed a lot of my grandbaby’s life and thank goodness I don’t have to miss things anymore!
NOT anymore!!! I was able this summer to do everything I ever wanted to do with my family. Before I had the procedure we went as a family to my daughters college for orientation. I didn’t get to go because I had a migraine and was throwing up. So all day I cried cause I had to miss her excitement of seeing her college for the first time. I was devastated. Then shortly after that trip, I had the surgery and the day she got to move in to her college I was there! I was up early moving furniture all day, setting up her room, taking pictures, and going out to eat! We even shopped in between schedules! My daughter was so amazed to see me there and not hurting. She got to see me smile and laugh the whole time of course until I had to leave!
I recommend the surgery to everyone I think it could help…My aunt is actually going today to have it put in her spine for her back pain.
